William & Helen Gillette: Sundays at the Castle, presented by Harold & Theodora Niver
Sundays 2 p.m. at the Visitor’s Center, from the end of November to mid-December
The Gillettes are back!!!!! On Sunday afternoons you have the opportunity to meet the Gillettes, as portrayed by our Friends, Harold and Theodora Niver. They will greet and interact with visitors at the Visitor’s Center on Sundays at 2 p.m., weather permitting, from November 27th to December 18th.
In the warmer months, they greet and interact with visitors on the terrace (when construction is not underway) and by the Goldfish Pond, Sundays 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., weather permitting, from Memorial Day through the fall.
William and Helen Gillette themselves visit the Castle on occasion, courtesy of re-enactors Harold and Theodora Niver. The Nivers are stalwart partners with the Friends of Gillette Castle State Park, and they visit the Castle on a regular basis during the summer months. Their entertaining program "An Evening with the Gillettes" has been hailed far and wide in magazines such as the Smithsonian, Fortune, Connecticut Magazine and Yankee Magazine, and in news segments on PM Magazine, ABC News and CBS News. See more at their website: Sherlock Holmes - an Evening with the Gillettes.
Visiting the Castle when the Nivers are there brings a whole new dimension to your visit! You will feel like you have stepped back in time, and they are gracious, delightful and very knowledgeable hosts to both this beautiful property and the fascinating man who built it.
Open to the public.
