1920's Photography event at Gillette Castle

What: Come with camera in hand or dressed in your best 1920's era costume! Enjoy an exclusive 2-hour period taking and posing for photographs inside William Gillette's extraordinary castle. All photographs taken are under the terms of a special use permit, which allows you to own the photographs. All proceeds benefit the Friends of Gillette Castle State Park.
When: There will be two groups inside the Castle - one group from 10 a.m. - 12 noon and a second group from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Between 12 noon and 1 p.m., all participants are encouraged to roam the Castle grounds, taking exterior photos at your leisure and/or participating in our accompanying 1920's picnic lunch. Bring your own picnic basket lunch to enjoy!

William and Helen Gillette themselves will be visiting the Castle between 2-4 p.m. and they would be pleased to pose for pictures for any and all comers.
PICNIC BOXES: We are sorry to say that boxed lunches are no longer available for pre-order. You can pack your own lunch or, our friends at the Hadlyme Country Market are close to the Castle and have really wonderful food. You can call ahead (860) 526-3188 to order sandwiches so you don't have to wait. There is also a local winery/cider barn nearby if you want to bring a "special" beverage (alcohol is permitted at Gillette Castle). We look forward to seeing you there!
COVID GUIDELINES: We will follow current COVID guidelines of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). At this time, no masks are required. These requirements may change over time as DEEP policy adapts to the level of COVID infection in the state of Connecticut. Models not dressed in appropriate period costumes may be declined entry.
