CELEBRATION POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER CONCERNS, BUT THE FERRY IS RUNNING!

Join the celebration to mark the Chester-Hadlyme Ferry's first round trip of 2021 on April 1

WHO?

Everyone and anyone! Membership is NOT required.

WHAT?

Celebrate the 2021 start-up of ferry service between Chester and Hadlyme.

Admire the recent improvements to the welcome area at the Hadlyme side of the ferry landing.

WHEN?

POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER CONCERNS

WHY?

Free refreshments! Convivial conversation! Celebrate spring! Admire the renovated ferry landing area! Talk to the people who made it all happen! (The improvements were a terrific collaboration between the Department of Transportation and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.)

WHERE?

Access to the western landing is on Route 148 at Ferry Road in Chester. Take the ferry on its first river crossing (7 a.m.) to join the celebrations in Hadlyme. The eastern landing in Hadlyme is on park property at the base of Seventh Sister Hill. Park at the end of Ferry Road (Route 148) and look for us.

HOW?

Ferry passengers will be charged current rates to ride the 65-foot diesel-run Selden III, which include a walk-on charge of $2 to pedestrians and bicyclists, $5 for vehicles on weekdays and $6 for vehicles on weekends. A $3 commuter rate requires pre-purchased coupons priced in a book of 20 for $60.

Because the boat is a public conveyance, federal law requires all persons to wear a mask when boarding, disembarking and for the duration of travel on the vessel. Face shields are not compliant under current law.

We hope to see you there!
