Park supporters offer free rides during celebration of Chester-Hadlyme ferry!

  • Chester-Hadlyme Ferry Landing 162 Ferry Road Lyme, CT, 06371 United States (map)

Join our celebration of the Chester-Hadlyme ferry!

WHO?

Everyone and anyone! Membership is NOT required.

WHAT?

Celebrate the 2021 running of ferry service between Chester and Hadlyme.

Admire the recent improvements to the welcome area at the Hadlyme side of the ferry landing.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is expected to take place at the Hadlyme ferry landing shortly after 10 a.m.

WHEN?

Saturday May 15, 2021 10 a.m.

In case of inclement weather, the celebration will be held at the same time the next day, Sunday, May 16.

WHY?

Free refreshments! Convivial conversation! Celebrate spring! Admire the renovated ferry landing area! Talk to the people who made it all happen! (The improvements were a terrific collaboration between the Department of Transportation and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.)

Tickets for a free walk-on passenger round-trip ferry ride are provided by the Friends when you sign up for our mailing list or donate to support our efforts!

WHERE?

Starting at 10 a.m. on the Hadlyme side of the ferry route, we'll offer free coffee and pastries, generously donated by Hadlyme Country Market! Park at the end of Ferry Road (Route 148) and look for us.

HOW?

Attendees who sign up for the Friends' mailing list or donate to support our efforts receive a free ferry ride!

For the occasion, the ferry will be accessible only to walk-on passengers between approximately 10:10 and 10:30 a.m. Vehicles and regular passengers will be allowed after 10:30 a.m.

Because the boat is a public conveyance, federal law requires all persons to wear a mask when boarding, disembarking and for the duration of travel on the vessel. Face shields are not compliant under current law.

We hope to see you there!
